Liu Cui, 30, landed a job in the township-level people's government in Jiaokou of local Yanchang County when she passed the test for the selection of graduates-turned village officials in September 2010.

Liu became an official in the village of Fengjiahe this April. Since then, she has devoted herself wholeheartedly to the development of local agricultural business and the improvement of people's lives.

Thanks to her efforts, all local farmers have erected anti-hailstone nets in their orchards to ensure the healthy growth of their apples.

Moreover, Liu has attached great importance to the assistance and care of local impoverished families in her day-to-day work.

To better accomplish her workload, she had to ask her elderly mother-in-law for helping taking care of her two-year-old son .

Liu said in a recent interview that a qualified village official must not only possess sound theoretical and practical skills in her work but should also adhered to his or her original aspiration in better serving the public.
