A ceremony was held in Beijing on July 10 to honor 86 female reporters, who have done excellent jobs in covering the May 12 quake.

At the ceremony, 10 of them shared their experiences in the quake areas. Fang Hua, a reporter from the Radio Beijing Corporation, survived the Tangshan quake 32 years ago. She went to quake zones immediately after the Sichuan quake hit on May 12, and sent back more than 60 items of news during her six-day work. Xinhua News Agency reporter Mao Chen stayed in quake-hit Lixian County for seven consecutive days to cover quake relief work, even though she had just delivered a child.

Gu Xiulian, president of the All-China Women's Federation, attended the ceremony and presented awards to the reporters.

Cao Zhaoqin, president of the Beijing Women Journalists Association, also attended the event and encouraged female journalists to make continuous efforts in their future work.
