An official temporarily assigned to alleviate poverty in a village in southwest China's Guizhou Province has successfully improved the conditions of locals in Pingbao village over the past six months.

Yuan Shanshan has mobilized people from the grassroots to actively participate in the improvement of the rural conditions and helped them increase their incomes.

By the day, she visits poverty-stricken families, solves neighborhood disputes, and helps people draw up poverty eradication plans in the area, which is heavily reliant on agriculture.

In the evening, Yuan holds meetings and publicizes policies, such as industrial restructuring and other anti-poverty measures, and discusses issues related to infrastructure construction with villagers and colleagues.

Yuan has won much praise from both her colleagues and the local villagers.
