Chinese actress Liang Jing recently joined the New Wave Forum at the Cannes Film Festival in France together with Chinese director Huo Jianqi and actress Celina Jade to talk about promoting the development of Chinese women's movies.

Liang said that women have been playing an increasingly important role in promoting the development of the industry. In recent years, Chinese women's movies have dominated a certain amount of market share and female filmmakers have gradually gathered more attention.

She revealed that audience and practitioners were using various channels hoping to provide more attention and opportunities for women practitioners in the industry.

As an actress, Liang has been shifting the focus of her career to behind-the-scenes production in recent years, determined to dedicate herself to the industry as a female filmmaker.

"China has gradually affected the world and has driven the enthusiasm of the entire film industry to encourage people to diligently make films, instead of pursuing economic returns," said Liang.

Liang mentioned that although Chinese filmmakers have stepped onto the international stage and made remarkable achievements, they should reflect on how to better promote the core of Chinese culture.

She also hoped that people would contribute their own strength to include more national elements with social significance in the works of new directors to support the development of the industry.
