On the front line of the fight against the epidemic, women from all walks of life have resolutely implemented the decisions and deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, and made contributions to the epidemic prevention and control.

Four women role models who worked bravely on the front line of the anti-COVID-19 battle shared their stories at an event held at Beijing Normal University and China Women's University on November 25 and 26.

The event, sponsored by the Publicity Department of the All-China Women Federation (ACWF) and the Ideological and Political Work Office of the Ministry of Education, aimed to promote the great anti-epidemic spirit, deepen a sense of patriotism and encourage college students to learn from the role models and strive to beall-round socialist builders and successors.

Wang Li, a driver on the ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing in Wuhan City, Central China's Hubei Province, is an outstanding representative of many women drivers in the ride-hailing industry. During the epidemic, Wang joined the Didi community support team to provide free travel services for medical workers in Wuhan.

Zhou Yan, captain of the women's mounted police unit in Wuhan, said that all her colleagues rushed to the front line after the epidemic outbreak. "What our actions conveyed is the confidence and hope of both the police and the people to fight the epidemic through cooperation," said Zhou.

Xu Xu, a reporter from China Women's News and one of the first groups of journalists who rushed to Wuhan after the epidemic outbreak, sent back more than 100 articles, video and photo reports during her 60-day stay in the city, telling the stories of numerous heroines during the battle and the epidemic prevention and control effort at the primary level.

In March, President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, encouraged young medics who are fighting COVID-19 to make their contributions in places where the Party and the people need them most. President Xi made the remarks in response to a letter from 34 young Party members of a medical team sent by Peking University to assist the anti-epidemic battle in Hubei Province — the epicenter of the outbreak. Li Siqi, an ophthalmic nurse at Peking University Third Hospital, is one of the 34 young Party members.

Li shared her stories in Wuhan, including how to do practice in putting on and taking off isolation suit, how to use respirator and how to take care of each patient carefully.

"The stories of the women role models made me deeply feel the noble spirit and great strength of the heroines. As the young generation of the new era, we must keep our mission in mind and grow into new comers who dare to take on the responsibility of national rejuvenation,"said a woman college student.

More than 700 people from the ACWF, the Ministry of Education, and representatives of teachers and students from the Beijing Normal University and China Women's University attended the event.
