Four of the 10 award-winning stories were displayed to the audience at the event. They were about the women volunteers' efforts in caring for left-behind children whose parents have migrated to other areas for work, bringing warmth to the elderly people, participating in the social governance at grassroots level, promoting environmental protection and joining in the work of targeted poverty alleviation.

Ju Ping, a volunteer and well-known TV hostess, sang the song Me and My Motherland to the accompaniment of a group of students from the Yunhexing Volunteers' Team in Tongzhou District, in Beijing.

Statistics show that in recent years, women's federations at all levels have organized and led 350,000 women volunteers' teams and more than 23 million women volunteers to carry out activities targeting women, children and families.

The ACWF will continue to improve the mechanism of women's voluntary services and unite and guide more women to implement Lei Feng's spirit of selflessness in poverty alleviation and social services.

It also urged efforts to help women and children in need, especially impoverished women and left-behind children.
