Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), made an inspection tour at the China Association of Women Scientific and Technical Workers (CWST) and the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs (CAWE) in Beijing on June 14.
During her visit to the Institute of Biophysics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shen gave high acclaim to Bi Lijun and her team for their noticeable achievements in the treatment and clinical trials of tuberculosis, and she encouraged them to strive for higher progress in scientific research.

Shen talked with female scientific and technological workers about their roles in building China into an innovation-oriented country and in the nationwide campaign to alleviate poverty. She learned more about their personal lives, and encouraged them to focus on academic studies related to the needs of national development. She also called on them to integrate their personal dreams of building a powerful country through their scientific and technological endeavors into their dedication to serving Chinese people.
Shen praised the important role of the CWST in uniting and leading female scientific and technological workers in the pursuit of building China into a powerful country in the fields of science and technology.
Shen noted that female scientific and technological workers should have a clear understanding of the China's glorious achievements over the past seven decades, strengthen their faith and confidence in the Party and the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, take the lead in practicing core socialist values and contributing to poverty alleviation, strive for greater progress in scientific and technological research, and developing China into a science and technology power.
Shen also made an inspection tour to Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company. She spoke with its employees about their corporate social responsibilities and the role of women workers in business expansion, and she praised the achievements made by female employees in key positions.

During a meeting with representatives of female entrepreneurs, Shen exchanged ideas with them about how to better cope with market competition against the backdrop of growing trade protectionism in the international environment and move forward to tackle challenges in starting up businesses.
Shen called on them to integrate business development into the pursuit of national prosperity, step up efforts in technological innovation and product research, fulfill corporate social responsibilities, spur high-quality growth with new concepts on development, follow the instructions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and make greater achievements in the new era.

Shen also instructed the women's federations to convey the policies and decisions of the CPC Central Committee to their group members in a timely manner, strengthen training and publicity efforts, show Chinese women's dedication and pioneering spirit, and mobilize more women to perform well in the workplace.
