Shen Yueyue, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), conducted an inspection tour from June 4-6 in southeast China's Fujian province.
The investigation centered upon the studying of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a New Era, resolutely implementing the deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and solidly advancing the federation's work on families in the local cities of Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Xiamen.
Shen stressed that women's federations must perform these important political responsibilities and persist in practicing Xi Jinping Thought.
Shen visited urban and rural communities, communicated with grassroots women's officials and people from the general population face to face, listened to their opinions and learned about their suggestions on the work of women's federations in regard to the most outstanding problems in the development of family culture and the most urgent issues to be solved in family education.
Shen also repeatedly emphasized that Looking for the Most Beautiful Families campaign should focus on the participation of the people, attracting more families, especially young ones, to consciously nurture and promote positive family traditions, and promote the formation of the new trend of socialist family culture.
In addition, Shen demonstrated her concern about the progress of grassroots women's federation reform.
At Fuzhou Administrative Service Center for Citizens, Shen learned that the center insisted on the Party building and women's development. She also explored the development of local women's federation, where they regularly carried out several activities among Party members.
Shen encouraged officials of the center to continue to innovate in their work and make full use of female employees' role as "Half of the Sky".
In Baogai Town, Quanzhou City, Shen learned and thoroughly praised the work model adopted among grassroots women's federations of the town, which has solved several financial problems in an orderly way and motivated the federations to work more efficiently.
Shen also paid a visit to sportswear manufacturer Anta (China) Co., and praised the restructuring of its women's federation and establishment of the Women and Children's Home center, hoping that more private enterprises would take the initiative to inspire female workers to contribute to their positions in the new era.
In the Wuyuanwan Community of Huli District, Xiamen, Shen highly commended the garbage sorting efforts carried out by the locals. She hoped that more people would take part in this activity and practice a green and low-carbon lifestyle.
Shen also went to Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade, the People's Court in Haicang District in Xiamen, and Qianpubei Community in Siming District to conduct research on the promotion of female college students' entrepreneurship, the construction of family affair courts, and women's participation in social governance innovation.
At a symposium held in Quanzhou, Shen listened to several work reports of women's federations at various levels.
During the investigation, Shen met and exchanged ideas with Yu Weiguo, secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress, on women's work and development.
Deng Li, Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, and Wu Hongqin, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, accompanied Shen during the tour.
