Song Xiuyan, Secretary of the Party leadership group of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), presided over a meeting among members of the leadership group on January 15.
At the meeting, participants studied speeches delivered by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, and put forward specific measures according to her own practical work at the federation.
The fresh achievements concerning the Party, women and the ACWF since the 18th National Congress of the CPC mainly benefited from the strong leadership of the Party with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core and the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Wang further explained Xi's theory on Party construction; the full reform of the Party in the new era under the leadership of Xi; and introduced the clear requests on Party leaders' roles at all levels.
Wang's talks were specific, targeted and instructive. Women's federations at all levels should study and implement them well, said officials.
Song, also vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, called on women's federations at all levels to study Xi Jinping Thought and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress; to improve their initiatives in work with the Party's newest theory; to strengthen the Party's leadership; and, to safeguard the position of Xi Jinping as the core leader and the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership.
She also urged members to deepen ACWF's reform, strengthen Party building work and improve political consciousness. Finally, she summarized that the ACWF should take more practical and effective measures to spread Xi's theory among women at the request of the central Party committee, helping women intensify so-called "Four Confidences", follow the Party's step and fight for the goal of 19th CPC National Congress with practical work.
Participants also discussed how to reform the ACWF, conduct relevant research and prepare for China's 12th National Women's Congress.
