At the invitation of the Peruvians for Change Party, Song Xiuyan, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), headed a delegation to Peru from December 14-16. Song, also Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, promoted the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during her visit there.
Song attended and addressed a meeting to publicize the spirit of 19th National Congress of the CPC in Peru during a meeting organized by the Peru's Institute of International Politics. Song comprehensively briefed the political parties, think tanks, media and scholars in Peru on the spirit and great achievements of the CPC Congress. She also expounded the background and significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Meanwhile, Song introduced China's historic achievements and the changes that have taken place over the past five years, as well as China's efforts in strengthening strict Party-governance in an all-round way and building a community with a shared future for mankind. Song answered questions from Peruvian officials.
The Peruvian side said that the CPC congress is of great significance for both China and the world. The successful practice of the socialist road with Chinese characteristics has provided a useful experience for Latin American countries. Peru is looking forward to the international cooperation related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Moreover, officials hoped that Peru and China will deepen inter-party exchange and strengthen pragmatic cooperation in various fields to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and achieve more fruitful results in the future.
Song met local officials including President of the National Assembly of Peru; President of the Party; and, President of Peru's Institute of International Politics.
Song presented the second volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China to the Peruvian officials.
Song also conveyed the Congress spirit among staff at the Chinese Embassy and representatives from Chinese enterprises in Peru.
