Senior leaders of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) vsited China Women's News and ACWF's Internet Information Publicity Center, to instruct on publicity work of the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on October 16.
Song Xiuyan, vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, along with Xia Jie, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, both encouraged media professtionals in their coverage of the upcoming 19th National Congress of the CPC.
Song and Xia instructed the news professionals to perform with a high-level sense of responsibility and mission, and listened to their plans for reporting during the event.
At China Women's News
"Thanks for all your hard work," Song said to staff writers who were busy preparing editorials at the newsroom of China Women's News.
She gave her full affirmation to a series of reports by the paper.
In particular, Song praised the feature titled "Good News to President Xi" for its appropriate theme and innovation, which has generated a great response among women and those in journalism circles.
The reports have created a good atmosphere of public opinion to greet the congress, Song commented.
As staff with a newspaper administrated by the ACWF and as representatives of the mainstream media, reporters and journalists should contribute persistent efforts during the period of the congress in giving reports in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said Song.
Journalists should also highlight female delegates in terms of their style and voices; enhance the political consciousness of the newspaper; and, produce high-level and standard reports as a significant political mission, she added.
"Journalists have to conduct interviews in the daytime and write reports at night. We appreciate your hard work," Song said to three experienced staff members who have been assigned to conduct reports during the period.
Song urged the newspaper to play the role of a "central kitchen" in providing quality content to other media outlets under the ACWF.
At the ACWF's Internet Information Publicity Center
"Yesterday's launch ceremony of the website womenvoice.cn (a Chinese-language media outlet of the ACWF) was successful. Xia Jie and I come to encourage you to carry this progress forward," Song said.
During her one-hour stay at the Center, Song exchanged ideas with the center's staff over a series of issues such as approaches to reporting the congress and the development plan in the future.
She also paid a visit to the office of the newly-launched website, where she browsed different sections and inquired about its operating conditions.
"The promotional video is good in terms of its display of the website's major sections at the launching ceremony (on October 15). Its launching ahead of the 19th CPC National Congress should give credit to the concerted efforts of all the media staff.
"Our next plan is to promote the brand as a joint force in spreading the voice of women," Song said.
Currently, the website is at an initial stage which requires media workers to dedicate huge efforts. Such efforts are worthwhile because confidence, enthusiasm and responsibility can secure a promising platform of the website, she added.
Song also encouraged editorial staff to use quality reports to spread the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress.
