A series of photos showing a team of women from Chongqing-based Southwest University recently went viral online, gaining numerous thumbs-up from netizens.

Established in 2007, the Women's National Flag Team have become well-known on campus. They regularly attend official events and perform various ceremonial duties.

The team recruits sophomores and juniors from different schools. Its dedicated members are on average 20 years old and 1.73 meters tall.

Being willing to endure hardships is one of their common traits, said a spokesperson.

For example, standing to attention, an indispensable part of their training, usually lasts 10-30 minutes. During the training, every member must keep their heads up, their shoulders square and hold their stomachs in, with their eyes to the front.

The university released a promotional video about the team earlier this month.
