In China, there are 31 provincial-level secretaries of commission for discipline inspection, among whom five are women, according to a recent report by the Beijing Times.
The report reveals that six secretaries are below the age of 55; 10 secretaries are between 56 and 60; and 15 secretaries are over the age of 60. Among these 31 secretaries, five of them are women, including Huang Xiaowei, Hong Qiang, Zhang Xiaolan, Ma Yongxia and Song Airong. Zhang Xiaolan, 50, is the youngest secretary in China.
The report also indicates that one secretary, Deng Weiping, has received college-level education; five secretaries, including Huang Xiaowei, Wang Binyi, Wang Yongjun, Ren Zemin and Hong Qiang, have received bachelor degrees. Twenty-two secretaries have received master degrees, and two have received doctorates.
Most of the secretaries had worked in the department of discipline inspection before taking their present posts. For example, Ye Qingchun, the secretary of discipline inspection in Beijing, had served as team leader of the discipline inspection team to the Supreme People's Procuratorate. Some of the secretaries have working experience in the department of human resources, such as Xu Songnan — the secretary of discipline inspection in Chongqing — who had served as the director of the organization department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
