A public campaign day aimed at raising awareness of garbage sorting recently took place in the village of Julong, in Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong Province.
The event was organized by Guangzhou Women's Federation and the City Management Commission of the region.
On the day, staff of the federation broadcast videos on the experiences of mothers from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao in China, as well as from Fukuoka in Japan.
Nearly 100 people joined the event, including mothers, female volunteers from around the region, and local villagers.
They took part in popular activities such as quizzes and games on the theme of refuse classification, along with demonstrations of recycling and making eco-friendly household products.
To mark the event organizers also established a volunteers' team of mothers who will further spread information about the proper sorting of waste.
