Under the guidance of Guangdong Women's Federation, local organizations in the south China province have made great efforts to set up online platforms to update their work practices.
In response to the country's so-called "Internet Plus" strategy, women's federations at every level in Guangdong have strengthened their promotion of services related to women and children, including legal consultancy, entrepreneurship, employment, poverty alleviation and skills training.
Up till now, the federations at county level and above have established 91 websites and more than 160 official social media accounts to promote their work.
Meanwhile, federations at all levels have set up over 40,000 online groups on various subjects, building relations with more than 3 million women from the general population.
Additionally, according to officials, local women's federations across the province have also promoted integrative services platforms and proactively developed innovative functions via new media to provide services for women and children and improve organizations' working standards.
