Shaanxi Women's Federation in northwest China officially founded the province's first Silk Road Women's Home and public-welfare lecture hall on March 28, aiming to serve and promote women's engagement in the Belt and Road Initiative.
In particular, Li Dongyu, vice president of Shaanxi Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the ceremony authorizing the activity center's title, which was held in Datang Xishi Museum in the provincial capital of Xi'an.
Co-hosted by Fan Yanyan Silk Art Center, the Silk Road Women's Home Activity Center has integrated national and global resources into various sectors to establish a platform, building a close relationship between women and the Belt and Road Initiative on cultural exchange, entrepreneurship, innovation, and self-development.
Gong Xiaoyan, president of Shaanxi Women's Federation, suggested increasing the content diversity of the Silk Road Women's Home. She also emphasized the need to strengthen communication and cooperation among women and strive to explore a development road with business, culture and public welfare.
Specifically, she noted the women's center will play a unique role in presenting and exchanging Silk Road culture with the help of Datang Xishi Museum.
In addition, Gong urged the further development of the Fan Yanyan Silk Art Center to drive women's entrepreneurship and interaction. In this way, the organization could play an active role in enhancing women's cultural confidence and promoting their contributions, allowing them to play an exemplary role in economic development, cultural exchange and people-to-people exchanges.
