An exhibition to promote the most positive virtues found among the nation's families opened on January 10 at the China Millennium Monument in Beijing.

The show was co-organized by the Beijing Women's Federation (BWF), the Capital Civilization Office (CCO) and the State-affiliated Beijing Gehua Cultural Development Group (BGCDG).

Attended by youngsters and members of the public, over 100 family representatives took part, many of whom shared their inspirational stories and gave unique performances to visitors.

Organizers said the exhibits, showing ancient and modern family mottoes as well as examples of family correspondence, would greatly help viewers better understand traditional Chinese household values.

In addition, the display also included pictures and diagrams selected from a similar activity held last year.

Individuals in attendance at the event also included: Chen Xiaoxia, director-general of the Department for Children under the All-China Women's Federation; Ma Lanxia, secretary of the Party leadership group of the BWF; Sun Fenglan, deputy-inspector of the BWF; Li Danyang, general manager of the BGCDG; and, Chang Jianjun, director of the Working Department for the Minors of the CCO.

The exhibition runs till the end of February.
