All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) recently held a publicity meeting aimed at encouraging more women to help with the ongoing flood relief efforts taking place in many parts of the country.

After heavy rain and storms hit regions in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River this June, latest rainfalls have left a further 130 dead and 110 missing in the northern province of Hebei as of July 23.

Shen Yueyue, president of the ACWF, instructed colleagues that the organization must play its role in uniting women for rescue and relief activities and post-disaster reconstruction.

"Women entrepreneurs, volunteers and relevant social groups must be motivated to help transfer the affected residents to safe places, solve the problems facing the women and children, and do their part in restoring normal life and work to the people."

Meanwhile, the federation staff must spread the effort the government and the Party have already made to further rescue and support survivors, the official added.
