Outstanding Female Reporters Honored in Beijing

The Beijing Female Reporters Association holds a meeting on February 2, 2015 to present awards to outstanding female reporters who made great accomplishments over the past year.[Women of China]

The Beijing Female Reporters Association held a meeting on February 2, 2015 to present awards to outstanding female reporters who made great accomplishments over the past year.

At the meeting, the association selected 79 reports out of 162 articles submitted by 43 news agencies in Beijing and presented awards to the reporters of the selected articles.The reports "Raising Hope, Women Play Roles in Administration, Construction of Rural China" and "These Are Our Dreams, Ten Chinese Women's Answers about Their Dreams" submitted by Women's Foreign Language Publications of China, won third prize.

Duanmu Laidi, vice president of the Beijing Female Reporters Association, spoke at the meeting. She said that the female reporters have improved their professional skills to report important events, breaking news and hot issues. "As we can see from the selected reports, the female reporters went to factories, farms and schools to gather information on people's lives, and their reports covered various walks of life and became more profound and vivid. These reports reflect China's achievements in deepening reforms, anti-corruption, rule of law, news supervision and aerospace science and technology. The reports that won first prize showcase the reporters' expansive vision, down-to-earth style of work and great courage to cover important and sensitive issues."

Beijing Female Reporters Association Vice President Cao Zhaoqin delivered a speech, in which she reviewed the association's work in 2014. She said that over the past year, the association worked hard to serve female reporters and held many activities to improve female reporters' professional skills.
