The book launch for the traditional Chinese version of Selected Letters between Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao was held in Hong Kong on April 19.

The book consists of 74 letters between Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People’s Republic of China and Deng Yingchao, the wife of Premier Zhou and Chairwoman of the Sixth National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference from 1938 to 1971. There are also 12 photos and seven manuscripts in the book, said IP Shun Hing, Chairperson of Hong Kong Federation of Women.

Zhou Bingde, the niece of Premier Zhou, attended the launch and signed books for the readers. Dr. Elsie Leung Oi-sie, Vice Director of Hong Kong Basic Law Committee, was also present and gave her congratulations.

The critics, who have read the simplified Chinese version of the book, said the book reflects the couple’s values on marriage and love.
