Chongqing's "Sister Sha" Juvenile Care Center was recently established in Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and officially put into use.
The center is China's First Provincial One-stop Assistance Center for underage victims. It was supported by the Chongqing Procuratorate and the Chongqing Public Security Bureau and co-founded by the Jiangbei District Procuratorate, Jiangbei District Public Security Branch and Chongqing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.
Taking into account the physical and mental characteristics of juveniles, the public security organization and procuratorate organs provide correct information about juvenile rights, make inquiries for evidence, and offer psychological counseling, examinations, treatment and other assistance, forming a one-stop inquiry and assistance work mechanism.
In addition, other district and county procuratorates and public security sub-commissions may also apply to the municipal procuratorate and the municipal public security bureau for the use of the center in accordance with the requirements of each case.
Besides the one-stop inquiry and assistance center at the provincial level, Chongqing has established five other inquiry and assistance centers at district and county levels.
