International Youth Volunteers Promote Gender Equality in Beijing

The International Youth Action Beijing 2019 is held in Beijing from July 7-16. [For Women of China]


The International Youth Action Beijing 2019 with the theme of Gender Equality for a Better World took place in Beijing from July 7 to 16. Thirty international youth volunteers from China, Nepal, Pakistan, Tanzania, Mongolia, Laos, Hungary, Costa Rica and the United States participated in the ten-day event.       

The international volunteers took part in many activities centered on gender equality, to have a better understanding of the development of women and children in China.

The volunteers visit the Beijing Zhicheng Public Interest Lawyers, a law firm which promoted the establishment of the first public-interest institution in China specializing in legal aid and legal research on issues affecting minors. [For Women of China]
The volunteers traveled to the Badaling Great Wall to promote gender equality to tourists. [For Women of China]
The volunteers visit a rehabilitation center for children suffering from brain paralysis in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The center is a non-profit welfare institution that provides rehabilitation training, cultural education, art therapy and medical services to children aged under 18 who suffer from brain paralysis. The international volunteers brought a well-prepared performance for the children. [For Women of China]
