The district of Jizhou in Hengshui, a city in north China's Hebei Province, has strengthened the cooperation between vocational schools and enterprises in recent years in a move to accelerate local employment.
In addition to increasing its investment, the local government has encouraged educational institutes to build a closer tie with firms and added courses about subjects such as new energy vehicles, passenger service on bullet trains and arts to its curricular programs.
So far, the customized vocational education has been welcomed by employers.
