A ceremony celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China Women's University (CWU) was launched in Beijing on December 6.

Shen Yueyue, President of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Shen pointed out that in the 70 years since its establishment, the CWU has educated a large number of talents in a unique way. She added that its achievements depended on the strong leadership of the Party and the pioneering spirit and hard work of generation after generation of its staff, as well as the great support of social circles.

Shen urged the staff of the CWU to profoundly implement President Xi's remarks on education, women and women's work and to implement the Party's educational policies in an all-round way.

She called on the staff to further enhance confidence in the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and ensure socialist ideas in its educational orientation, contributing to accelerated modernization of education.

Shen noted that the CWU should promote socialist core values, strengthen the cultivation of good moral characters, and teach students to be talents who can take up the mission and responsibilities of the national rejuvenation.

Shen urged the CWU to improve teachers' morality and teaching styles and to build the university into a base of training women cadres and women's federations' cadres and a window for Chinese women to exchange and communicate with people in foreign countries. It should also be made a cradle for cultivating talents who are able to promote gender equality and the development of women and children's cause and serve society and families, as well as a base for studying and innovating socialist women's theories with Chinese characteristics and family building theories.
