Professionals of Preschool Family Education Convene Congress at CWU

The Professional Committee of Kindergarten-stage Family Education under the China Family Education Society (CFES) convened its 2nd congress at China Women's University (CWU) on June 24.

Nearly 62 deputies from universities, kindergartens, media, social organizations and educational institutes of family education attended the congress.

Zhu Baoming, Vice-Chairperson and Secretary-General of the CFES, said that the professional committee has made huge progress in theoretical, academic and practical innovations in the field of kindergarten and family education since its establishment in 2014.

Zhu continued that the professional committee has developed sound brands for academic exchanges related to family education, carried out a collection of publicity events on popular science, compiled multiple publications on family education suitable for children aged 3-6, and nurtured a group of high-quality teachers.

Wang Lian, Vice-President of the CWU, spoke about the preparation for the establishment of the professional committee, the completion of academic research assigned by the CFES, the publicity work of kindergarten and family education, personnel training, and the cultivation of graduate students in this sector in her work report on behalf of the committee's first council.

Experts from the CWU, Shanghai Normal University and the CWU's affiliated experiment kindergarten delivered separate lectures on the latest development of family education in China, the connection between family's functions and children's growth, communications between parents and children, and the influences of parents upon their children.

Deputies approved a regulation on the professional committee's operation and they elected members of its second council with Wang as the president of the council.
