CWU Distributes Financial Aid to Impoverished Students

The meeting to give financial aid to 22 impoverished students is held on April 30. [China Women's University]

China Women's University (CWU) held a meeting to give financial aid to 22 impoverished students on April 30 in honor of the upcoming centenary of the May 4th Movement.

The aid is provided by Yeung Chi Hung, Member of the 13th China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Director of the Hong Kong New Youth Energy Think Tank, and Member of the Executive Committee of the ACWF. 

Li Mingshun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, Liu Liqun, President of the CWU, Ren Cuiru, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the CWU, teachers of the Student Administration of the CWU and 22 students with financial difficulties attended the meeting.

On behalf of the school, Liu expressed her heartfelt thanks to Yeung for her donation. She said that the growth and development of impoverished students was inseparable from the caring people from all walks of life like Yeung, nor could it be separated from the care of the Party and the country.

Liu called on the students to love the motherland and the Party, study hard to repay those caring people.

Yeung has always been concerned about students of the CWU, especially those with financial difficulties. Although she was not able to present at the meeting, she was introduced through a video clip featuring her story with the CWU.

In addition, Li said that the CWU would continue to implement the guidelines of the Party and the country, set good examples and offer help to the poverty-stricken students, creating better learning conditions for them in order to cultivate outstanding women.

Liu quoted General Secretary Xi Jinping, who has stressed the centenary of the May 4th Movement: "Chinese youth are ambitious. Chinese youth have deep love for their country and homeland. Chinese youth are creative. From the past, the present to the future, Chinese youth have always been the vanguard force in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."

After the meeting, the students showed their calligraphic works to express their gratitude to Yeung, and expressed their determination to keep learning to improve themselves in order to serve the motherland in the future.
