BSSCWC selected 15 dance teams for the contest from 40 squads recommended by women and children's centers. The dancers performed vigorous and enthusiastic folk dance, modern dance and Chinese classical dancing to a professional level.

The organizers invited professionals from the dance industry and dance teachers from higher institutes to participate as judges. They ranked the teams according to their creativity, artistic expression and theatrical style.

It is the second year of the dance training and contest for grassroots women in Beijing, also the fifth year of CWU participating in the project of "bringing professional dance into the community".
