Nepal Trade Union Delegation Visits CWU

At the invitation of the All-China Women's Federation and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the General Secretary of Nepalese Trade Union and secretary of Nepalese Trade Union Executive Committee visited China Women's University (CWU) in April, where they attended a seminar.

CWU Vice-President Wang Lian and directors from the International Cooperation Department, the Labor Union and the Enrollment and Employment Office also participated in the event.

Wang warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced CWU's development history, school-running characteristics, undergraduate curriculum, objectives of talent cultivation and its basic situation of international exchange.

After listening to Wang's talk on the university's achievements in promoting women's and children's development and in improving social gender awareness, Pande, secretary of Nepalese Trade Union Executive Committee, said she had a great interest in cooperating with CWU.

Pande commented that she was impressed by the institute's efforts in increasing employment opportunities for female students, improving women's status, as well as promoting gender equality and women's development. Nepal is expecting to further cooperate with China on global matters, and she hoped that more Nepalese could come to China and study at CWU in future.

The two sides also exchanged opinions on CWU's admission system, foreign aid project, overseas students program, the curriculum of Social Work Profession and its female officers training program.
