CWU Wins Multiple Prizes in CUMCM

The 2016 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) came to a satisfying end in Beijing in September. Some 93,000 delegates from 1,367 colleges participated in the event, including 5 teams from China Women's University (CWU).

Under the careful instruction and supervision of the teachers, CWU students won a national second prize and got second place in a competition held for the Beijing area.

CWU won an "Excellent Organization Prize" jointly with 19 other higher institutes in China. Li Lili, a teacher from CWU's Computer Science Department, received the "Outstanding Adviser" award in the contest. 

The event was sponsored by Beijing Educational Committee and aimed to develop new ideas for the advancement of mathematical modeling, improve college students' math skills and promote mathematics teaching reform. 

The university's achievements were the result of the latest talent cultivation efforts and are a powerful witness to the university's educational reform, said CWU's team leaders. The players revealed the characteristics of CWU's computer teaching, performed well and displayed superb computer skills, organizers concluded.
