CWU Holds Training Course for ACWF Cadres

The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and China Women's University (CWU) co-sponsored a training course recently for the ACWF's cadres.

Lan Qing, vice-minister of the ACWF's Legal Department and some 97 trainees from 31 provinces and municipalities participated in the opening ceremony which was presided over by CWU vice-president Wang Jingxia.

On behalf of the university, Wang warmly welcomed the leaders and trainees and sincerely thanked the ACWF for its special attention and strong support. 

The year 2016 marks the beginning of China's Five-Year Plan period. The training course aims to thoroughly execute and implement the Central Party Committee's instructions on mass organization reform, meet the demands of the ACWF in protecting women and children's rights, improve the cadres' all-round capacity and strengthen team construction, Wang said.

The CWU carefully arranged special teaching staff and logistical support, and prepared the training theme and curriculum in line with the actual situation of the ACWF's Legal Department. Wang hoped that the trainees could cherish the opportunity, study hard, exchange opinions and learn from each other.

Afterward, Wang outlined the basic situation of the university, introduced the main content of the event to the participants and expressed her hopes that the cadres could take their theoretical knowledge into practice and better protect women and children's rights and interests.

In the end, a trainee representative made a speech. He said that all the trainees will observe discipline, obey the university's arrangements, listen carefully to the experts and communicate thoughtfully with each other. After the ceremony, Lan made a keynote speech titled "How to Protect Women's Rights in the New Era". 

During the 10-day schedule, teachers and officials from different universities and organizations will give several lectures on women's rights protection. The sponsors will also arrange some activities related to team building, teaching practice and group discussion.
