CWU Leaders Inspect Flood Control Work

 July 10, 2016

Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU) inspected the university's flood prevention work on June 29. CWU vice-president Wang Jingxia, and directors from the Logistic Management Office and Security Department accompanied Liu.

Liu checked the flood control facilities, including the emergency reserve depository, the basement of the main building, the high-voltage power distribution room, the heating station, and the major sections for flood prevention.

Liu fully affirmed the preparations, and said that measures to control and prevent floods must be fully used during the rainy season. The flood prevention work is closely related to teachers' and students' lives and property, to the overall situation of CWU's development and reputation.

Relevant departments should clear assignment of responsibility, strengthen the leadership, and join efforts to prevent flooding. They should also adjust the deployment in time according to the different alert level, and improve its adaptability and flexibility.

Liu called on departments concerned to make the best use of flood control facilities, check up on them regularly, and meet the demands of emergency rescue staff in different regions. The functional departments should work closely with each other, organize regular flood drills, enhance teachers' and students' safety awareness, and ensure the security of their lives and property, Liu added.
