CWU Supervision Team Visits Unis in Guangdong

 May 2, 2016

Staff members from the Quality Supervising Department and Teaching Affairs Office at the China Women's University (CWU) visited Shenzhen University (SU), Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus (BNUZ), Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), and Foshan University (FU) in south China's Guangdong Province recently.

The delegates and counterparts further discussed and exchanged opinions on undergraduate teaching management and reform, the construction of the teaching quality guarantee system, and how to improve teaching supervision.

SU's Teaching Supervising Team was directly managed by the university's vice-president who was responsible for teaching affairs. Its annual Principals' Teaching Excellence Award motivated more teachers to participate in educational scientific research effectively.

FU has carried out several measures to improve the teaching quality and supervision work of its subordinate colleges in recent years. SYSU will organize a supervision team with 200 professors for full coverage of visiting and criticizing classes. BNUZ is energetically promoting its information construction in teaching quality evaluation.

After learning about these universities' advanced ideas of teaching reform and productive work experience, combined with CWU's own situation, the delegates realized the significance of constructing the guarantee system for undergraduate teaching quality. Firstly, they pledged to pay more attention from the leadership; secondly, optimize the work mechanism; thirdly, strengthen the construction of supervision team; and, fourthly, reinforce information construction.

The visit broadened delegates' horizons, and clarified CWU's future development orientation and work objectives. Combining with CWU's education condition, catering for its evaluation work, the functional departments will further establish the teaching quality guarantee system, and prepare for the evaluation work towards undergraduate education.
