CWU Delegates Visit UPC and Qingdao Uni

Liu Liqun, president of China Women's University (CWU), and CWU vice-president Wang Lian visited China University of Petroleum (UPC) and Qiangdao University on May 18, accompanied by some seven teachers from CWU's Undergraduate Education Department and the "13th Five-Year Plan" research group. 

UPC president Shan Honghong, and Fan Yuejin, Party Secretary and President of Qingdao University, warmly received the delegates, and introduced their own basic situation.

UPC vice-president Liu Huadong guided the delegates to visit the UPC History Museum, and presided over a seminar. Liu introduced the basic situation of UPC's undergraduate education, and laid out its assessment and construction work. Directors from the CWU's general office, the Center for Higher Education Research and Evaluation, Teaching Affairs Office, and Student Affairs Office, communicated and discussed the specifics of the 13th Five-Year Plan formulation, and evaluation work.

Yu Yongming, vice-president of Qingdao University, introduced their experiences of undergraduate education evaluation, their basic situation of undergraduate education reform, and their present main work. Directors from the Teaching Affairs Office and Development and Planning Department at the Qingdao University added some explanations to some innovative measures of the education reform, and the main ideas and progresses of the 13th Five-Year Plan.

Liu Liqun sincerely thanked the two universities for sharing experiences and warmly receiving. Liu highly affirmed both of the two universities' great achievements, and pointed out that they have learned advanced theories in the university's top-level design, and gained valuable experiences in talent cultivation, teaching management, and quality assurance system. The visits broadened delegates' horizons, and clarified CWU's future development orientation and work objectives. She hoped to further deepen cooperation, and promote common development.
