CWU Holds 2016 Employment Work Conference

China Women's University (CWU) held its annual employment work conference on May 17. All senior staff, mid-level cadres, directors of teaching and research sections, counselors, and headteachers participated in the event which was presided over by CWU President Liu Liqun.

The event aimed to comprehensively summarize the basic situation of CWU's recruitment and employment work in 2015, commend advanced units and individuals in employment evaluation, analyze the chances and challenges linked with CWU's enrollment and employment work, and arrange tasks and key work in 2016.

CWU vice-president Song Shengju thoroughly explained and analyzed the data on CWU's enrollment and employment work in 2015, summarized the defects, chances and challenges in the work, put forward future working ideas, and presented the main work going on. Combining the in-depth comparison of past data and lateral comparison of majors, Song scientifically interpreted CWU's data and compared it with counterparts. Bao Qinglin, director of the CWU's Recruitment and Employment Office, spoke about CWU's recognition decisions on advanced units and individuals in employment work assessment.

Focused on CWU's recruitment and employment work, Li Mingshun, chairperson of the CWU Council, made some requirements. Firstly, Li spoke about firmly establishing the employment orientation, and continuously promoting the development of link mechanism in enrollment, talent cultivation and employment. The link mechanism is a major focus of CWU's 13th "Five-Year Plan", along with structure optimization and teaching quality improvement. Around the students' quality, education, employment, service, and teachers' quality, all the departments should comprehensively analyze and revise the majors setting and talent cultivation plan according to the job market changes.

Secondly, Li said that talents' quality fundamentally influences the quality of employment. Student-oriented curriculum and meeting students' developmental demands are the paths universities must take to improve their talent cultivation quality. Li also emphasized that education must serve the objective of talent cultivation. Students' development determines CWU's fate, at the same time, CWU's development influences teachers' destiny. At the beginning of CWU's 13th "Five-Year Plan", Li encouraged teachers to join efforts to work hard, and promote CWU's scientific development of enrollment, talent cultivation, and employment. 

Liu pointed out that all departments should thoroughly implement the key point, target, and ideas of CWU's employment work. The university should highlight its characteristics, adjust the structure and layout of specialties, and give full play to the linkage mechanism. All the teachers should fully explore the power of data, realize educational virtuous circle with specialty construction, and improve CWU's level of school running and talent cultivation with daily efforts.
