CWU Holds Seminar on Happy Marriage and Family

To mark the 105th International Women's Day, China Women's University (CWU) held a symposium on happy marriage and families on March 8. Li Mingshun, Chairperson of CWU Council and vice-president of the China Association of Marriage and Family Studies, gave a lecture on the theme.

Some 300 teachers and students participated in the event which was presided over by CWU vice-president Song Shengju.

In terms of comprehensively advancing the rule of law which was laid out at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, Li introduced the development history and core concepts of the Chinese Marriage Law; gave a lecture on the relationship between the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of couples; and, shared several vivid case studies with the audiences.

Li also introduced methods in maintaining legal rights, and building happy family units. From all aspects, Li illustrated the country's inheritance law, domestic violence law, and marriage law.

The seminar comprehensively popularized relevant laws in daily life, taught those presented how to enhance legal awareness, and how to organically combine ethics and laws in family life. Li also encouraged them to strive for harmonious marriage and families.
