CWU Students Debut as Ushers at IAAF World Championships Opening Ceremony

 September 1, 2015

The opening ceremony of the IAAF World Championships 2015 is held at the Beijing National Stadium on August 22. President Xi Jinping attended and declared the official start of the competition. A total of 118 female students from China Women's University (CWU) took part as ushers at the opening ceremony.

Dressed in white T-shirts and green skirts, the students guided athletes from different countries to enter the stadium. On behalf of all female college students in China, the representatives showed their best image to people across the world.

Since the beginning of August, all of the women, whose average height is over 1.65 meters, went to the Shunyi practice base in Beijing to get training. Their daily training focused on posture, smile, walking, how to hold a banner and other basic actions. They worked hard and received high praise from the directors and organizers of the event.

Now, the women are dedicated to the preparations for the closing ceremony, which is going to wrap up on August 30. Carrying forward China's passion and dreams, the CWU women will each contribute to the success of the event.
