The committee of 2015 World Championships in Athletics organized a centralized training course for the first batch of 700 young volunteers from 17 local colleges and universities from August 11–12, in Jiuhua Spa and Resort in Changping District, Beijing. Forty selected volunteers from China Women's University (CWU) participated in the training.

The training combines centralized instruction and subject-oriented sections, to give a systematic and professional overview to volunteers. The course contents includes media coverage, foreign affairs records, introduction to the "bird's nest" stadium, etiquette training, emergency management and first aid. Students were also taught about Beijing's culture heritage, volunteers’ instructions, a brief on the world championships, foreign culture and religion.

In the afternoon of August 12, three training Commissioners of the human resources department from Kempinski Hotel conducted face-to-face interviews with the university's volunteers and gave a lecture on their specific responsibilities. Volunteers from the university carefully studied all aspects of the lessons, improving their volunteer service skills, and familiarizing themselves by taking notes of the event, showing the spirit of dedication, positive attitude, setting the foundation to ensure the quality, success and efficiency of the volunteer service work. The volunteers will welcome the championships with enthusiasm, professional standards of service and sincere smiles and achieve their youthful dreams in the action, organizers said.

A total of nearly 3,000 student volunteers from colleges and universities in Beijing will participate in the volunteer services at the core competition venues during the event. The volunteers from CWU will work in the VIP and VVIP restaurants to serve as guides and carry out reception work.
