Female Chinese Journalist Shows Poland's Customs, Culture Through Her Lens

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relationships between China and Poland, an exhibition of "Poland Through the Lens of a Chinese Female Journalist" was held in the School of Foreign Languages under Peking University from October 28 to November 10.

The exhibition displayed 70 photographic works which gave audiences an insight into the customs and culture of Poland.

Jiang Langlang, Head of the Publicity Department of Peking University, said at the exhibition's opening ceremony that he hoped to enhance young people's understanding of Polish culture through this exhibition, and the School of Foreign Languages will strengthen communications with Polish scholars and research institutions, contributing to the friendship between China and Poland.

Piotr Gillert, First Counsellor of the Republic of Poland to China, said that Du's photographic works vividly showcase Poland's natural landscape and historical and modern buildings, as well as Polish arts and cuisine and the life of Polish people.  

Du has worked for Beijing Daily and Yunnan Daily newspapers as a senior journalist. She has been to Poland many times and published three books about the country, which include detailed depictions of Polish people, customs, history and culture.
