Before the advent of the Double Ninth Festival, university students from Shanghai's Fudan University held a special ceremony for the elders in their neighborhood. The golden couples living in the No.1 Residential Community on Zhengli Road, Yangpu District, were invited to the campus to celebrate their golden marriage.

At the ceremony, two couples (Wang Yinhu & Hu Fu'an, Wang Shangen & Yao Mei'e), who have been married for more than 50 years, shared their love story and the secret to their long-lasting marriage with the younger generation. After that, they enjoyed a performance gala given by the university students and other community residents.

Over the recent years, students at Fudan University have carried out various activities in the No.1 Residential Community on Zhengli Road. For instance, each Friday, they give English, computer and technology classes to the residents to improve their literacy and enrich their lives. While serving and helping others, the young people have achieved self-improvement.
