Peng Peiyun
Peng Peiyun, born in 1929, a native of Liuyang, Hunan Province, of Han Nationality. She graduated from Tsinghua University and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1946. She was President of the Eighth Executive Committee of the All-China Women's Federation. Peng actively involved in various national societies and state council committees that deal with women's and disabilities issues.

1979-1982: Director of the Department of Policy Studies of Education Ministry and member of its Party Committee.

1982-1985: Vice Minister of Education and member of its Party Committee.

1982-1992: Member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC Central Committee.

1985-1987: Deputy Director of the State Education Committee and member of its Party Committee.

1987-1988: Deputy Director of the State Education Committee and member of its Party group and Secretary of Party Committee of the Chinese University of Science and Technology.

1993-1997: State councilor, Director of the National Women and Children's Working Committee, Director of the State Family Planning Committee.

1998 -2003: Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress.

Peng was President of the Seventh and Eighth Executive Committees of the Red Cross Society of China. She was also a member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees.
