Tan Lin was elected as a member of Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and a member of its Party leadership group at the 11th National Women's Congress.
She is also head of the Women's Studies Institute of China (WSIC).
Tan, Han nationality, was born in Huang County, east China's Shandong Province, in June 1960. She began working in September 1982 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in April 1986. Graduating from the System Engineering Department of the Xi'an Jiaotong University, she holds doctor's degree and is a professor.
