Officials in Tianjin, northern China, have recently partnered with the local women's federation and the people's court to help protect the rights of women and children.
In the latest move, many of the deputies from Tianjin Women's Federation have served as jurors at the court to help solve women and families' disputes.
Official says the federation continues to promote the popularization of the basic knowledge of law among female citizens, and has strengthened ties between the organization and the public.
The federation also helps women who are threatened by family violence to apply for the "personal safety protection" from the people's court.
Women with financial difficulties can appeal to the law with a discount or for free, said an official.
In addition, more special courtrooms will be set up to hear women's family lawsuits in the future.
"We sent around 150 jurors to mediate in 364 family disputes last year and we will continue to cooperate with the judicial system to protect the rights and interests of women," said Zhoulu, vice-president of the federation.
