Chinese media recently launched the Hold Your Mother's Hands campaign to encourage women to share photos and stories about their mothers for Spring Festival.
Many major websites posted a video on February 19 about urban white-collar workers who are "too busy" to visit their mothers at this time of year.
Later, the new media platform of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) initiated a related activity focusing on homecoming and family ties.
Women responded by submitting pictures, video clips and stories of themselves with their mothers to local women's federations.
"Holding the hands of my mother, I found that her tender and warm hands in my memory had suddenly become so rough and dark. I know this is the mark of her sufferings as well as selfless love when bringing me up," a woman in southwestern China's Sichuan province wrote.
