Newly paired-up Guo Yue and
Li Xiaoxia won the third title for China at the table tennis tournament of the
Doha Asian Games on Wednesday, beating Tie Yana and Zhang Rui from Hong Kong,
China.
The top seeded Guo and Li overcame the more experienced rivals 5-11, 11-6,
11-8, 11-8, 11-8 for the title.
Tie and Zhang had some opportunities to come back. But, with a 7-3 lead in
the fifth set, the Hong Kong pair lost the control and let the Chinese claw back
and finally win the set 11-8.
Wang Nan/Chen Qing, also from China, and Huang Yi Hua/Lu Yun Feng of Chinese
Taipei finished a joint third.
