Shen Yueyue, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and president of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), and Deng Li, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, visited the subsidiary kindergarten of China Women's University (CWU) on April 17, addressing the importance of moral education and family education.

Hu Hua, director of the kindergarten, outlined its teaching methods of integrating moral education into diverse cooperation. Shen listened carefully to Hu's introduction, visited the cultural wall themed "Returning to Innocence, Restoring the Nature of Children" and watched a short film "Our Kindergarten".

The Tree Houses, Hanging Garden and Ecological Plant Wall drew visitors' attention and fully expressed the diversity of preschool education as the changing seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Shen walked into the classrooms of different grades and communicated with the children about their school lives, hobbies and themed activities they are interested in. In addition, Shen browsed the kindergarten's book series, visited the 'One Square Meter Vegetable Garden' and exchanged opinions with teachers on class sizes, teachers' responsibilities, communication with parents and children's moral education.

While fully affirming the kindergarten's achievements in recent years, Shen pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen the construction of children's moral education, highlight morality in institutional norms and refine the "Children's Growth Records".

The teaching staff should make efforts to develop children's good characters and behaviors, teach children to adjust their moods and get along with people more easily. Moreover, teachers should communicate with parents regularly, lead parents to inherit good family traditions, uphold strict family education theory and pay close attention to the construction of family civilization, Shen said.

While raising parents' awareness of family education responsibility, relevant leaders should also continue to summarize experiences, constantly improve and innovate the kindergarten's management, Shen added.

CWU's Subsidiary Kindergarten was founded in 2004 and aimed to improve preschool teaching experiments and research. Under the guidance of the ACWF and the Education Commission of Chaoyang District in Beijing, the school began to recruit children of school age since 2004. Its unique teaching model and diversified courses were well received by children and parents, and won high esteem from society.

Li Mingshun, chairperson of the CWU Council; CWU President Liu Liqun; Vice-President Wang Lian; as well as directors from CWU's General Office, Publicity Department and the School of Children's Development and Education, participated in the event.

Attendees also included Chen Xiaoxia, director of the ACWF's Department for Children; Liu Yamei, deputy director of the ACWF's General Office; and Jin Qingping, deputy secretary of the ACWF's Department for Children.
