China Mobile Internet Booming

Mary Meeker,a well-known analyst on Wall Street, who has been nicknamed the "Internet Queen", issued a report on 2013 world Internet development on May 29.

In this report, Meeker pointed out that in the future, the Internet industry will display three trends. These trends include more users from mobile internet, unprecedented increase from users of tablets and opportunities from emerging markets including China.

The report revealed that last year the number of global Internet users increased by 10 percent, which is lower than the 20 percent increase in 2007. The total number of global smart phone users has increased by 20 percent. The mobile Internet has also developed by 81 percent over the last year.

The report stressed that according to Internet traffic, three Chinese companies have entered the top 10 companies in the world. They are Baidu, Alibaba and Sohu. The users of the mobile Internet in China reached 500 million worldwide, which accounts for 80 percent of the total internet users in China.
