Meng said the delegation was the first group of guests she had received since Spring Festival. She added that we are a family and gave them a warm welcome.
During the banquet, Tsai Ling-lan, member of the Kuomintang Central Assessment Committee and who led the delegation, introduced the representatives to Meng.
Meng also briefed on the recent work of the ACWF, focusing on the implementation of several projects including Free Cancer Screening Program, Small Loan, Action Against Infant Anemia and more.
Huang Chao-shun, also a member of the Kuomintang Central Assessment Committee, introduced the development and achievement of several projects improving women's life in Taiwan, with a focus on women's entrepreneurship, the social security of older women, women's political participation and the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer and breast cancer.
The ACWF and the delegation exchanged gifts at the end of the banquet and took group photos. They promised to make exchange visits, learn from each other and promote women's development.
On the morning, the delegation also visited the Dongcheng District Women's Federation of Beijing. They had an informal discussion and visited Shijia Hutong Museum – Beijing's first museum themed around one specific hutong, located at Courtyard No 24 of Shijia Hutong, Dongcheng district.
Hutongs are narrow streets or alleyways typically found in Beijing, representing the heart and soul of old Peking.
