A group of Tibetan nuns in northwest China's Qinghai Province told representatives from the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) that they are glad to have seen the country's new achievements in economic construction and feel fulfilled by spreading knowledge of the new changes in society to more people.

The nuns said this during a return visit that the ACWF made on July 7-10, 2013, to assess the effects of a training course held earlier by the ACWF in Beijing for the nuns.

"We are confident that our lives will become better and better," said Lamao Zhuoma, who is in charge of the Tashi Nuns' Temple in Yushu County. She has set up a computer room and a sanitation room at the temple, following ideas she got from the training course in Beijing.

"The minute I came back, I told all the nuns at my temple that Panchen Lama visited us in Beijing. They were so excited. I passed on what he said about treasuring life, loving our country and religion and praying for the country and the people," she said.

According to her, post-disaster reconstruction efforts in Yushu following a recent earthquake are about to be completed and the temple's structure has also been improved.

"It was my first time visiting Beijing. I was very happy," said Sangba Caiji, a nun in charge of the Xiwa Nuns' Temple in Chindu County. "The harmony and prosperity of our motherland guarantees everyone's happiness. We nuns should pray for the country and the people by spreading good thoughts and chanting sutra."

Xie Qiong, vice president of Qinghai Women's Federation, said that Tibetan Buddhist nuns are a special group and that the ACWF holds training courses for them to help keep them abreast of new changes in society.

Since 2010, the ACWF has held seven training courses for over 300 Tibetan Buddhist nuns from the Tibetan areas of China's Sichuan, Yunnan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces and the Tibet Autonomous Region.
