An exhibition of creative contemporary Chinese ink painting of Chinese-American artist Yu Lanyin, jointly hosted by the American Embassy in China and the Chinese Museum of Women and Children, was opened at the Chinese Museum of Women and Children in Beijing on November 30, 2012, and will run for six days.
More than 300 people including officials of cultural institutions in China, children's representatives and journalists attended the opening ceremony. Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) Zhao Donghua, the wife of the U.S. Ambassador to China Mona Lee Locke, and guests from the Chinese National Academy of Arts, the China Artists Association and the National Art Museum of China as well as other organizations were among those who attended the opening ceremony and witnessed the cutting of the ribbon to open the exhibition.

The exhibition, featuring 49 of Yu Lanyin's paintings with the theme of 'Journey to the Deep and Within,' depicts a beautiful underwater world and will inspire children to protect the sea and the environment.

Artists, guests and critics also attended the opening of the exhibition and spent time discussing the ink art of Yu after the opening ceremony.
