Senior Guangdong Official Li Yumei

The Central Government recently appointed Li Yumei a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and head of the Organization Department of the Committee.

Li Yumei, a native of Yinan in east China's Shandong Province, was born in October 1956. She began working in December 1974 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in April 1976. After attending training courses for young cadres at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee from September 1995 to July 1997, Li Yumei graduated with a master's degree.

November 1975--May 1976            Secretary of Zhuxu Management Area, Suhe Community, Linyi County, Shandong Province;
May 1976--April 1978                     Deputy director of Finance and Trade Office of Linyi County;
April 1978--October 1983               Director of Teaching and Research Office at the Party School of the CPC Linyi County Committee, during which time attended courses from September 1980 to July 1982 for cadres at the Party School of the CPC Shangdong Provincial Committee;

January 2001--February 2001          Secretary of the CPC Laiwu Municipal Committee, secretary of the party leadership group of the Standing Committee of Laiwu Municipal People's Congress and president of the Party School of CPC Laiwu Municipal Committee;

January 2006--February 2006          Vice-mayor of Shandong, member of the Party Leadership Group of Shandong Provincial Government, secretary of the CPC Laiwu Municipal Committee and director of the Standing Committee of Laiwu Municipal People's Congress;
February 2006--June 2007               Vice-mayor of Shandong and member of the Party Leadership Group of Shandong Provincial Government;

Li Yumei is delegate to the 17th CPC National Congress, alternate member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and deputy to the Ninth National People's Congress.
